Kiyoka Rhodes is a writer, producer and director of films and branded content for multiscreen platforms. She attended American University's School of Communication in Washington, D.C., earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Film & Media Arts with a minor in Graphic Design. Her career began on the news side of television at NBC 4 Washington (WRC) where she developed skills in advertising and promotion. After her time at NBC, Rhodes continued to develop her strong expertise in creative services, including writing and producing and in-studio television production experience with networks such as The CW (DCW50). Her work has featured celebrities, such as Denzel Washington, Mandy Moore, Don Cheadle, Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga. In addition, Rhodes has a background in public relations. At the American Bar Association, she issued press releases, produced numerous videos, and photographed important personnel at events with a Supreme Court Justice and congressmen at the United States Capitol. Rhodes currently writes, directs, and produces commercials at Comcast Spotlight as the Creative Lead for the Washington, D.C. market.
Apart from television and branded content, Rhodes is a creative entrepreneur and emerging director of films. Her film directorial work includes a short film, Xosphere, winner at Rosebud Film Festival 2017. After receiving several awards and recognitions, her domestic violence awareness short film, Tunnel Vision, ended its festival run at the 2017 Global Impact Film Festival in Washington, D.C. Rhodes is also a multimedia designer, serving as the Founder and Creative Director of KEX STUDIOS, LLC—a full-service production agency specializing in films, branded content, and design. She is a member of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Rhodes is currently based in Washington, D.C. and in development of several projects, including her first feature film. She will continue using the art of film to tell stories with purpose and impact. #keepitmoving
